Welcoming Adult Patrons with (I/DD) Webinar

D(I/DD) You Know?: Welcoming Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities to Your Library Webinar

Many programs and services focus on youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), but what resources are there for adults with these conditions? Whether you have already noticed adults with I/DD in your library or are looking to invite this audience in as new users, this webinar will help you to create a more inclusive and welcoming experience for all.

In this webinar, you'll learn some basic information about I/DD, common barriers to library use faced by adults with I/DD, how to identify useful community partners, and strategies for addressing potential challenges in welcoming the I/DD population to your library. By the end of the webinar, you should feel more confident in your ability to serve this vibrant community and have a list of actionable steps for welcoming them into your library.
