Evening with Curtis King!


Curtis King is the founder and president of the Black Academy of Arts and Letters (TBAAL), Inc., a multi-discipline arts institution whose mission is to create and enhance an awareness and understanding of artistic, cultural, and aesthetic differences utilizing the framework of African, African American and Caribbean arts and letters.

Notable artists and cultural icons, such as Lou Goussett, Ruby Dee, Maya Angelou, Halle Berry, T.C. Carson, Erykah Badu, David Mann, Regina King, and many more have either studied, supported, or shared their gifts at the academy.

King will discuss the history, struggles, and accomplishments of the academy and African-Americans in the arts.

Dear Spartan Community,

The third annual National Day of Racial Healing is coming soon -  in just one week on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019 – and plans are underway in many communities to gather, learn together and celebrate our common humanity.

To show our connection to many around the country committed to the work of racial healing and empowerment of all people, we will gather together as a Spartan Community. Please come and stand with fellow Spartans as we affirm our support for community, connection, and dialogue at UNCG.

The Martin L. King Jr. Commemorative Program is a joint program between UNCG and N.C. A&T

Admission: Free admission and parking, free shuttles for N.C. A&T students every 15 minutes: pick up in front of the N.C. A&T Student Center will begin at 6:15pm
